In March 2002, Neil Johnston (rt), President of The Project CATE Foundation, Inc. and Dr. Brenda Litchfield of Educational Concepts (producers of Ribbit's Big Splash) received an award for Best Environmental Education Curriculum from the Environmental Education Association of Alabama at its annual meeting in Birmingham.

In November 2002, Ribbit's Big Splash received the 1st place in Youth Education from the Gulf Guardian Awards. This is part of the Gulf of Mexico Program at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. The award was presented at the Clean Gulf Conference in Galveston, Texas. |

This award was co-sponsored by The Environmental Law Institute, EPA, US Fish and Wildlife Service, USDA Forest Service, National Resource Conservation Service, National Marine Fisheries Service. In September 2003 the Gulf of Mexico Program, Stennis Space Center, Mississippi presented the Gulf Guardian Award to the Alabama Coastal Foundation and Ribbit’s Big Splash. The award was for the category of 1st place in Non-profit organization activities. The Coastal Kids Quiz is a competition for 5th graders using Ribbit’s Big Splash as base curriculum. |
